The visual identity renewal for Kohtla-Järve was already mentioned in last year’s summary, but this year it deserves recognition for being shortlisted as a finalist at the Kuldmuna awards.
We are deeply honoured to have been part of creating this design and are thrilled to receive such positive feedback.
For Estonian disc golf, 2024 marked another year of significant progress, both in terms of players’ abilities and the organisation of world-class events. Additionally, the national team successfully defended their world championship title in Australia.
The association also required a refresh of its identity and visual elements — something modern, effective for communication, and designed to strengthen the sport’s broader image.
Station Tartu first began four years ago when we created a metro and public transportation-inspired identity for this new real estate development. This year, their first rental apartment building was completed on Nelgi Street in Tartu. To mark the occasion, we finalised the previously created identity and developed graphics and signage solutions for the building.
Now relocated from Estonia to Montenegro, this triathlon enthusiasts’ initiative has rebranded itself as a café club, offering members good company, triathlon-themed activities, and plenty of shared ventures.
Midway through the year, BLE Locking approached us with a request to develop a visual identity — complete with graphic elements and other necessary materials — for their redefined business direction under a new name. Smart MasterKey: the key that unlocks limitless possibilities for its owner.
The auction platform initiated last year has finally gone live and has proven to be highly popular. In addition to expired domains available for auction, the Internet Foundation also launched several intriguing and previously unavailable .ee domains during the platform’s first year.
The website for the Baltic Defence College is not the type of work we typically take on, but we assisted the college in transitioning from their previous web solution to a new platform. They chose Voog CMS and the Nuuk template.
Since the pre-made solution turned out to be somewhat limiting, we implemented various customisations to meet the college’s daily information flow needs. These updates included improvements to the homepage, news and contacts sections, the library, and multiple content pages.
As briefly mentioned earlier, Smart MasterKey also received a new website. While it is still a work in progress, several views are already live.
Kristjan himself isn’t one to showcase his work too prominently, but when people ask, it must be done. And there’s certainly a lot to admire — breathtaking Milky Way shots, glimpses of the Northern Lights, and moments that remind us of how small humanity is in the face of nature.
Be sure to visit Kristjan’s website; there may still be some calendars available!
As the European Capital of Sport, Tallinn received vibrant illustrations and symbols from Tank Studio to communicate its activities throughout the year. We likely contributed one of the first pieces — the calendar.
Their catalogue remains one of the main attractions at trade fairs, providing distributors with essential information about Bon’s products and their features. We had the honour of updating it for the third time, with each edition improving and growing compared to the last.
In addition to its visual identity, we also created building graphics and signage for Station Tartu’s first rental apartment building. The design extended the original concept of metro stops and transit style, where each station and apartment serves as a unique stop.
Our love for typography brought forth the font Öökapp last year, inspired by a visit to the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. There, we discovered a residential and bedroom competition entry titled Ühtlus by Erika Nõva (1905–1987), with hand-drawn explanations written directly onto the designs by the architect herself.
The Cyrillic version of the font is now complete, and we are nearing its release.
